What does a whole conversion cost?
Our furniture is about a third of the total cost. Being honest about the other two thirds makes our price more credible, not less attractive — and it stops you discovering halfway that the budget is gone.
| Item | What it usually costs | Note |
|---|---|---|
| FurnitureFrom us | €1,315 – €3,155 | A real price, not an estimate. From the smallest seating group to the full layout with a lengthwise bed and dinette. |
| Insulation and vapour barrier | €350 – €900 | Armaflex is expensive and works; wool is cheaper and needs more care against moisture. |
| Floor, walls and ceiling | €400 – €1,100 | Plywood, glue, trim and floor covering. Costs more time than money. |
| Windows and roof vent | €500 – €1,400 | One roof vent with a fan and one side window is the minimum against condensation. |
| Electrics: battery, charger, inverter, wiring | €900 – €3,200 | The biggest variable of them all. 100 Ah of lead is 200 euros; 200 Ah of lithium with MPPT and inverter runs to 3,000. |
| Solar panels | €250 – €900 | 200 Wp is enough for a fridge and lighting; 400 Wp if you also want to cook on induction. |
| Water: tank, pump, tap, plumbing | €200 – €700 | With a boiler and hot water you are at the top end. |
| Fridge | €250 – €900 | A 90 litre compressor fridge is the difference between camping and living. |
| Hob and sink | €120 – €450 | A two-burner gas hob is the cheapest and most used; induction needs a bigger battery. |
| Heating | €300 – €1,600 | A Chinese diesel heater is 300 euros; a Webasto or Truma with fitting runs towards 1,600. |
| Toilet | €0 – €900 | From a bucket with sawdust to a separating toilet. We do not supply a wet room. |
| Tools you do not own yet | €100 – €600 | A decent cordless driver, a hole saw set and a jigsaw. They stay yours. |
| All together | €4,685 – €15,805 | Excluding the van itself and your own hours. |
These figures are estimates based on what self-builders report, not our prices. They give you an order of magnitude, not a budget. Only the line with our furniture is a real price.
And at a professional fitter?
A professional fitter charges € 25,000 to € 45,000 for the same layout, everything and labour included. That is not a rip-off: 200 to 400 hours of skilled work goes into it. So the difference with building it yourself is mostly your time — count on 80 to 150 hours if you use our furniture and do the rest yourself.
