Build it yourself, in wood

Build drawings for those who want it in wood

Not everyone wants aluminium. With a circular saw and nothing else you can build a perfectly good camper from sheet material — if you have the dimensions. That is exactly where self-building goes wrong: not at the sawing but at the working out. These drawings give you our dimensions in an all-wood construction, enough to build any of our 10 costed layouts.

Every part with its size

Sides, bottom, dividers, back panel, fronts. With quantities, so you are not doing sums at the timber yard.

A cutting plan that works

Against the sheet sizes builders merchants actually stock, with the offcut listed. So you do not buy three sheets where two will do.

Hardware that suits wood

Cup hinges instead of our surface hinges, and screws with a pilot-hole size — because chipboard splits without one.

Be honest with yourself: this is not our kit on paper. It is a different construction — sheet material instead of profile — which means heavier, harder to adjust and not something you unbolt when you change vans. If you want that, buy the aluminium kit and not this drawing.

Everything at once

All the build drawings

All 13 pieces as wooden versions: 187 parts in total, enough to build any of the 10 layouts we have costed. If you are building a whole van you need them all anyway.
